*Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind* is an American romantic science fiction film released in 2004. The screenplay was written by Charlie Kaufman, and the film was directed by Michel Gondry. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet star as a couple who have erased each other from their memories; Winslet altered her acting style for the role.[2] The cast also includes Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood, and Tom Wilkinson. The film’s title is a quote from Alexander Pope’s 1717 poem *Eloisa to Abelard*.
